Fanqie is my ragdoll cat. Blue eyes, a white face marking, warm brown ears, and an oversized fluffy tail make the character feel familiar.
The original fanqie-codex-pet is a small animated desktop companion. Its sprite sheet includes idle, walking, waving, waiting, and gaze states.
For this website, the character was reinterpreted as a larger illustration resting by a sunny window. The homepage uses separate high-resolution artwork, with gentle breathing and an occasional blink. It keeps the same familiar markings without enlarging the desktop sprite sheet.
The notebook, paper crane, and small tomato toy belong to the website’s illustrated scene. The tomato is a playful reference to Fanqie’s name.
